Ifriti are beings of almost pure fire. They are extremely solitary, and they are often short-tempered with any living thing they find. Being beings of fire, they naturally crave knowledge of many things, from events, to politics, to sciences. In secret, their flame has been highly coveted by merchants, scholars and kings; however, the Ifrit’s temperament with other races makes it a demanding posession, so if the terms under which it agreed to imparting a flame are fulfilled, grows bored or worse, takes offense – the results can backfire on the possessor of the flame.
The essence of Ifrit anatomy is fire, and the charcoal forms that look like arms, legs and faces are merely a framework for the bodies. Ifrit eyes, ears and vocalizations are no more than flames, and anywhere that their light touches – they can precieve. If a torch or fuel source is lit with the flame of an Ifrit’s eye, that Ifrit will be able to see, hear and speak wherever that flame is taken. It does not have the ability to act through that flame – unless, by some unfortunate series of events, that flame becomes too big. At which point, at its own discretion, the Ifrit could latch on to a fuel source and have a measure of control until the fuel source was expended, or switched to a new fuel source. In these occurances, the Ifrit is not in two places at once, instead it is controlling an avatar. However, if that flame is snuffed out, the Ifrit’s perception of the location will be severed.
If there is any race they have a measure of patience with, it is the Anbari.
