The Seed of all Life in Auolun brought forth many spirits, The Primal Elements (also know as the First Ones), and amongst their number were the mighty and meek. At first, their temperaments were simple, and it was the aspects of their personalities that manifest the elements to cloak themselves in. And every spirit was of one kind or another, and they were either Fire, Earth, Water or Air. In the later days, the mightiest of these were revered as titans and demigods by elves, dwarves and men, and the meeker spirits became known as elementals. They poured out their essence to forge the many kinds of life that walk, swim, and fly in Auolun. They started simply, creating beings that closely resembled themselves, but as they developed their skills in this, they found that they could achieve more working with their brothers and sisters – although, fire with water, and earth with air were slow to understand one another and slow work cooperatively. In these early cooperative efforts, they learned much about each other, and some of the lesser spirits birthed of the seed, adopted for themselves of the understandings, philosophies and temperaments of the element they worked with. It was in this way that Mud, Frost, Lightning and Magma Elementals and creatures came to be made. They continued to cooperate and make many kinds of life that flourished in Auolun. Then the elements dared to undertake a great effort, wherein all would be involved. And so much exertion, they poured much of themselves into the forging of the Dragons. Then they rested long and appreciated their young Dragons. Much of themselves spent, but still exhilarated by the achievement of their cooperation, they poured out the last of themselves in unison to make Elves, Dwarves, Pterakin and Humans.
